Patricia “Pat” Ann (Hunt) Brady was a kind, smart, and funny lady. Born in Hartford, CT on November 29, 1941, a daughter of the late Harris and Irene (Lavin) Hunt.
She graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a degree in political science and became the first female field representative for HUD in Philadelphia. There she met her future husband, the late Joseph “Joe” John Brady, when he accidentally hit her in the eye with a rubber band.
She went on to become a mother of six and cared for several other family members. An active parishioner of Saint Andrew the Apostle Church, she sang in the choir and was a cantor for many years. She had a beautiful, pure singing voice that encouraged others to join in.
Pat was a deep thinker and a generous woman of great faith who cared about people and the environment. Pat also had a wonderful sense of humor, which she called a sense of the ridiculous. Music and laughter stayed with her to the end of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her six children, Joe P. Brady, Mary Pax, Ann K. Brady and her husband, Thomas Sommer, John T. Brady, Michael Brady, and Thomas Brady; four grandchildren: Raina Sommer, Rue Sommer, Eliseo Pax and Noe Pax and her sister, Jacqueline Flagg.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Joseph, Pat is predeceased by her sister, Harriett Ornato.
A Funeral Mass will be said at 11am on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 in St. Andrew the Apostle, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Pat will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Media.
