McKenzie, Thomas J, 79, formerly of Washington's Crossing, Pa. and Upper Darby, Pa., passed away on Sunday August 7, 2016  at St. Joseph Villa in Flourtown. Tom was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (nee Carney) McKenzie. He was born and raised in West Philadelphia. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" (nee Crossan) McKenzie and loving father of Mary Dixon, Michael (Monica) McKenzie, Elizabeth (Norberto Fonseca) McKenzie and Thomas J. (Kristi) McKenzie. He graduated from West Catholic in 1954 obtained a B.A. from LaSalle University and a Masters Degree from Temple. He proudly served in the United States Army. He taught and coached swimming and baseball in the Philadelphia School District, mostly at Simon Gratz High School. He was the dear brother of the late Martin McKenzie, Mary Coleman, the late Michael McKenzie, John (Jack) McKenzie, Margaret Ruggiero and James McKenzie. Tom was the loving grandfather to Bridget, Austin and Genevieve Dixon; Daniela and Michael Fe McKenzie; Isabella, Sofia and Alejandro Fonseca McKenzie and; Thomas J. McKenzie III. Tom was a sports enthusiast and part time politician. He was a former Supervisor of Upper Makefield Township and a long time Republican State Committeman. He loved his nieces and nephews and in laws.
  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass Saturday, 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031, where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 AM Saturday at the Villa.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.  Friends may also call Friday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 Pm at the Logan Funeral Home, 57 South Eagle Rd., Havertown, PA 19083.
