Sylvia (nee Pluta) Mokrzynski, 91 of Exton, PA formerly of Blossburg, PA passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 6, 2017. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 22 years, Francis Andrew Mokrzynski.

Sylvia was the daughter of the late John and Lillian Pluta of Nanticoke, PA. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Edmund, Casmir and Raymond Pluta and baby sister Amelia Pluta.

Sylvia was a member of SS Philip and James Church in Exton, PA and a former member of St Mary of Czestochowa Church in Blossburg, PA.

Sylvia earned a diploma in nursing from King’s County School of Nursing in Brooklyn, NY; her career spanned 50 years. Although she worked in many different areas of nursing, one of her favorites was working with the elderly.  She enjoyed caring for senior residents at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA.

Sylvia had a love for crocheting and donated much of her work to hospital cancer patients. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and watching classic movies.

Sylvia is survived by her two daughters Mary Ann Mokrzynski and Rosanne Mattiace, son-in-law, two grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, 138 St. Mary's Street, Blossburg, PA  16912.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Main Line Health Hospice, 240 N. Radnor Chester Rd., Radnor, PA  19087-5174.
