Regina M. “Jeannie” Rafferty Bailey, 59, of Newtown Square, PA, wife of John E. Bailey, passed away suddenly at her home on September 11, 2016. Born January 14, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA she was the daughter of Janice A. (nee McMonigle) Rafferty of Drexel Hill, PA and the late Francis D. Rafferty.

Jeannie was a 1971 graduate of the Holy Child Academy and a 1975 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School, both in Drexel Hill, PA where she truly excelled at both schools in academics in the class room, and athletics on the playing field. In addition to being a full-time Mom, Jeannie had also been employed for many years as a Food Executive in the restaurant industry, and had worked for many of the finer dining establishments in the Delaware County area. Jeannie truly had a heart of gold and was always there to help others over the course of her lifetime with whatever type of assistance she could offer, more often than not without anyone else knowing or any fanfare involved, as she was truly a giving person concerned with the happiness of others over herself.  Jeannie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and a loyal friend to many others outside of her family.

In addition to her husband and her mother, Jeannie is also survived by her children, Kristin A. Barry, Matthew F. Bailey, and Patrick Q. Bailey, her siblings, Maureen R. Coleman (Dan), Michael A. Rafferty, and Patrick V. Rafferty, her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Rafferty, and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends. Jeannie was also preceded in death by her older brother, the late Francis D. Rafferty, Jr. who passed away in 1992, and her younger brother, the late Terence B. Rafferty, who passed away in 2010.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Friday evening, September 16, 2016 from 6:30-9:00 PM and again on Saturday morning, September 17, 2016 from 8:00-9:00 AM at Logan Funeral Home, 57 S. Eagle Road, Havertown, PA 19083, and to participate in her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Saturday at Saint Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 3500 School Lane, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.

Jeannie’s family has respectfully requested that all flowers be omitted, and that in keeping with her lifetime commitment and dedication of helping and giving to others, that those desiring to do so may make a memorial contribution in Jeannie’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice, which would be deeply appreciated by her family.
